hello all new to this forum and just wanted some help deciding to get new gaming computer so i can play present games and least couple years down road.well to begin prob have bout 1500$ ive looked on dell and alienware gaming machines and they end up being close to 2000$ for what i want.i know u can build one yourself for way cheaper i wanted all new 20in flat screen, tower, and mouse.i been seeing alot of the nvidia 680i sli motherboard.what prossecor to get and what game cards to get???? list of parts for 1500$ any help lol thanks.

When do you plan on building?
Intel is going to release a lot of 45nm processors in January and nVidia may release newer cards.

ATM, in most peoples opinion, intel is leading as far as processors go.

i can wait i just wanting good idea on what to get. i just wanted to make sure i was on right path getting dual sli and stuff.i know how to build a comp i just never did one from scratch.thats y i was guna maybe get the alienware but after u make some upgrades it makes it way to much, wen i can just build it myself.idk help on parts??

Intel has a better processor right now, gaming or not. AMD has been lacking behind in terms of their processor. Tell your friend that he is wrong (I don't intend to be mean). If you want a good processor, go with Intel. Q6600 is good if you cannot wait until next year. Otherwise, wait a bit until around January 2008 where Intel will roll out their 45nm processors. Some of us are waiting for that too. :)

As for SLI, its not really needed for a gaming build. The increase in performance is not worth the money spent IMO. I would rather stick with one good graphic card. But then again, the bragging right might be worth the money for some people.

well what i was guna get was thier was a bare bone kit on tiger direct it was the XFX nForce 680i LT SLI Socket 775 Barebone Kit - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz OEM, ATX Mid-Tower Case, Clear Side, 600 Watt Power Supply.then i was guna get 2xCorsair 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz. and what game cards any of u recomend 2x 256s or should i get 2x 512s. o maybe just get one bad ass then later in time get the second??

so how much more will that new intel prosessor guna be in january lol i know some that new stuff can be exspensive im guna have bout 1300 for new comp but im guna get nice flat screen so i can hook up ps3 too. will i still make a sweet comp on bout 1100 with that new intel 45nm processors?????

yea i know i wont be affording no 1,000$ processor ill be sticking with regs no matter what so will i still notice diffrence over the q6600 2.4ghz vs the intel 45nm processors that are around same ghz?

45nm technology is better... You might not notice the differences, but gaming and benchmarking will. The new 45nm's also have alot more cache... perfect for gaming...
