Overclocking the E6850

No, there shouldn't be. If it crashes however then you need to look into raising the voltage or lowering the speed.

Hasn't crashed yet, I have been playing some Prostreet, GMod, and TF2..

Thx man

Alright I found the stock voltage wall.... It's at 390Mhz or 1560(QDR)... I just tried to take mine to 390Mhz and I crashed.. So now I am running at 378Mhz

Why don't you raise the voltage? I have mine running at 1.500v

I wanna keep the voltage stock... Wow... 1.5v for only 3.24Ghz? Isn't that a bit too much?

Would it hurt it if I went from like stock 1.27v to 1.30v? And see how far I can go on 1.3v...

Thanks

1.27 to 1.3 is nothing. Once you go past a 0.1 increase, then you are getting near the safe limit. Keep overclocking in 100MHz increments and run Prime95 for 5 minutes each time. If it becomes unstable, raise the voltage another notch, or back off on the overclock. My friends E6750 topped out at 3.5GHz with only 0.0625 raise in voltage over stock. We could have gone higher but he didn't want more voltage increase.

That's what I did when I went to 3.74Ghz... This thing will top at 4.1Ghz I bet... But, I like Orthos better than Prime95... 3.5Ghz is so close to possible with this thing on stock voltage...

Thanks
