my computer is the hp d530 business model...i am going to be getting a new case soon...but my question is...does anyone know what the factory supplied power supply is? and should i get a new one. My main question is while my computer is running it will start making a whirl noise..get loud for a minute then calm down and go quite...it has its moments. what could be causing this>? and how hard is it to replace the processor fan? and should i do it? and is it possible for me to put more then two hds in my new case?

SORRY IM A NOOB>

Is this (with a certain amount of leeway) your system? http://shopping.msn.com/prices/shp/?itemId=25291165,ptnrid=169,ptnrdata=17939316

If so, it's listed as having a 150 watt PSU.

When you say replace the case, are you planning on taking the internal components and swapping them over? The noise could be a fan (CPU or system), optical drive, or Hard Drive. CPU fans are quite easy on home systems, but on something like that, I've no idea. As for adding a second HDD, again I've no idea, as I'm not sure of the internal layout of that system. If you were to buy a new tower-style case, then yes, everything will be relatively easy.

*NEVER* apologize for being new or not understanding! With the exception of a few of us, we're here to help! :)

Alrighty then:) Well, that case will be fine if all you need is functional. I need to shamelessy plug the Cooler Master Elite 330 mentioned in my sig though. Slightly more $, but great airflow and nice to look at!

Honestly, I wouldn't trust your current PSU to power my TV remote, but that's just me. I had never heard of Rosewill until I started looking at Newegg, but the reviews are average, and it's a nice price, so go for it.

Those two items on Newegg are $85 before shipping, and they will kill you with it, just so you know (I live 90 miles from their NJ warehouse and it'll cost me $14. Tiger's warehouse is 500 miles from me and it only costs $2 more.) It should be noted that there are rebates for both items totaling $63.98 before shipping, so whatever the final shipping cost is to you, subtract $21.

Check out this Case/PSU combo (using the case I plugged above and a 350 watt PSU which will be more than enough for your needs): http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2541414&CatId=1509 $50 before shipping, and probably a better price on it, too. For basic parts needs, money saved is money saved!

not really sure yet lol..just comparing...the case you showed me..its tool free...is that good or bad?

Good. Very, very good:) Screws you can use your thumbs for on the side panels, and inserting drives into the bays are turn-and-pull pins, not screws. Makes for very easy maintainence :)

Comparing is good! Use both the case/PSU you asked about and the combo I showed you as a baseline, and do some research on others.
