First I'd like to say I'm posting this from a laptop and YES the connection from my monitor (for desktop computer) to the computer is connected.
Ok...so I think my computer overheated. I'm not sure but it was shutting itself off before...did it a few times. So I decide to look and it's all dusty in there. I clean the dust out being careful.
Turn computer back on and it's still doing it....this time it shuts off and I smell something...sorta like burning dust.
Ok...clean again... turn it on and the computer starts up...the fans, etc. but the monitor doesnt turn on...no beeping noise like I usually get either.
I tried a new video card, removed the memory, removed every thing basically and it still doesn't work.
And now the only way I can shut it off is by turning the power supply switch off. I can no longer turn off the computer by pushing the power button in for 10 seconds.
My power supply is an Ultra X-Finity 600 watt... I don;t think that's the problem.
I'm thinking the motherboard is fried...but would the internet port still light up if the ethernet cable is connected?
I don't know...please help.
