Internet speeds...

okay....my internet is kind of weird


when i do a speed test on speedtest.net,i get great results,

but when i download something, such as a song or anything,my download speed is 18-20 kb/s

i find that kind of odd...is there any way to know whats wrong
 
Where are you downloading things from? Are you getting those speeds from all types of download servers?
 
my speed was around 300kb/s,i dont get it...for games im not sure if this will do,because i play some online games, and like idk if itll be normal DSL or will it be like slow like 18 kb/s
 
The low speed was result of the site you were downloading from. If you can play the games online fine, there shouldn't be a problem, as a 18kb download speed in a game would be unplayable.
 
well,after a while i get a lot of lagg in the game, like internet lagg...at first its all great but after it fails

There could be several reasons. Background programs zapping bandwidth, Spyware/viruses, bad line quality/,bad service in general, overheating computer, this list goes on and on. Try running AVG's free anti-virus and anti-spyware, disable useless items through msconfig (intermediate task), open up the computer case and check for dust, on the video card, fans, heatsink/fan of the processor, Determine if the case is getting good airflow, etc.
 
I get 22110 Down and 1754 up! Hooray for Comcast speedboost! Now if this actually lasted for more than 5 seconds of downloading I'd be happy!

It is depend on site from where you are downloading because if that site server responding slow another option you check in dls speed test also....
