Crysis Rigged? Run on 8800GT

Every game runs MAXED at atleast 30 fps, except of course.... CRYSIS.

"Optimal" settings were set to High (I have XP, so "Very High" isn't an option, unless you hack it). The game ran great until the sun started coming out... Then FPS rate dropped noticeably and it was fairly hard to play at 18-20 FPS. It didn't really matter what resolution it was at either. And medium settings made it look worse, but didn't really help performance.

I THINK THIS GAME IS RIGGED, and I have the full version, not the demo. I've heard of people with very high-end systems that have the game run like crap, and they have things like QX**** processors and dual 8800 Ultras.

my q6600 and 7800GTX sli setup ran it on high aswell. tough, then the screen became too crouwded, the fps tend to drop quite a bit. so i had postprocessing and shader detail set to low, and shadow quality to medium. tough, It didnt run bad imo, considering the age of the cards :)

Ive ran it at high just fine, the demo version for now. I just got a crappy cpu at 3.3GHz and my gpu oced but still ran.

Demo ran good for me too. But once I got past that, into some different more complex environments, the frames dropped to about 15 FPS in many spots, and that makes fighting hard. This was at 1280x800 2xAA all high settings.

The q6600 isn't as big an advantage as you'd think. When i was over at the crysis forums, most q6600 users reported that the first and second core were working like a charm, but the 3rd and 4th had a 5-10% usage max. It is certainly quad-threaded, but poorly, unless of course it were the drivers that was causing such dismal CPU usage. That would be quite different.

I am very stupid! First of all, I used to own a motherboard with the nVidia nForce 4 SLIx16 chipset, which has both slots running at full x16 speeds.

My new P35 board has two slots as well (both look like x16 slots), but only one of them runs at full x16 speed. I had it in the other slot!

I already did 3dmark06 again. In the x4 slot, I got 9551. Just ran it in the other slot, and got 13029!

Ok, what people seem to be forgetting is this is a DX10 game!! Many of the people who posted who said it ran fine either have a DX9 card, or are using the demo which only runs in DX9 mode.

What you are getting seems to be normal, especially if you are running it in DX10.

EDIT: So did you actually have it in the 4x slot the entire time?

I'm getting 25+, usually 35-40 with the DX9 "very high" settings "hack" (just editing a .cfg file). This pretty much twice as good as before! The hack I'm talking about enables some features that are only supposed to be available in DX10, but Crytek just disabled them for anybody who uses XP. The visual differences between very high in DX9 and DX10 is minimal. The performance is better in XP.

EDIT: sidenote, I'm using the full version, not the demo.
