there is very little difference.

the look is different and some companies have their cards pre overclock...

other then that theres not much difference apart from some brands would be more trusted

some of the lesser known companies will bend you over and shove it up your rear if you should ever need customer service from them. go with a card from BFG or EVGA , they both are reliable. id be a little hesitant about buying a nice card like that from a lesser known company

but it is better to buy one that hasnt been pre-overclocked...

because you can easily do it yourself and the overclocked ones cost more.

its really not worth paying for it

I disagree with the person above me. Lots of warrenties get voided for OCing, but if you buy one already OC'd then A) you don't have to and B) the warrenty covers OCing.

The only real difference is the warrents, places like evga have lifetime warranties, and others have 3 year ones like XFX. Although most people will upgrade within 3 years, some people do keep it for longer. EVGA also has a nice step up program which is a nice thing to have.

The only time I would buy a pre-overclocked video card is if the price was not much higher (and I mean under $20 difference). To start off, theres no way to tell a video card has been overclocked since it's all done from within Windows-based software. Secondly you can usually achieve higher overclocks by overclocking a factory clocked card yourself.

So I would actually agree with Kuzba, but it's a personal preference really, since some people don't like messing with overclocking.

i agree with myself to a certain point :D

but where i live, a lot of overclocked cards are cheaper or the same price anyway, there is pretty much no stock so im just gonna get whatever i can.

i suppose warranty is a factor for some people tho.
