Dual core temperatures?

How exactly do I read the temperatures. I get 2 readings cuz there are 2 cores, and then it normally gives 1 reading with the 2 core temperatures added together. What should i worry about heat wise? For example, i overclocked my PC to 2.8ghz, and it says Core 1 is 24 degrees celcius, and core 2 is 25 degrees celcius, so then does that mean my cpu is 49 degrees celcius, or do i focus on the core temperatures. Thanks!

Here is the temps from TAT when my cpu is running at 3ghz, i have a game loaded in the background just for your awareness, if it matters much:

And here is the CPU-Z report, i had to have a game running in order for it to get to 3ghz and run at its 7x multiplier instead of 6x:

Core Temp doesn't seem to work whenever i overclock. I've reverted back and yet it still doesn't work. Anyone care to explain?

In terms of my memory, its running at 860mhz compared to its stock of 800mhz, i increased the voltage to my memory by 0.1v and it seems to be running okay. Was it necessary to give it an increase in voltage, or am I potentially at risk. I hope someone can explain this all to me as this is my first time ever overclocking something where i messed around heavily with the ram and cpu...i've usually only ever overclocked like 300mhz on a cpu.

As for the temperatures, none of the screenshots I saw gave the temperature you're interested in. The Core temps are the temps of the actual cores, and no, you don't add them together. There should be another temp of the CPU, not the core, which is what you should be watching. Download speedfan and see what it says your CPU temp is.

What am i supposed to be looking at out of all those temperatures?

The core temps, 0 and 1. It looks to be off though, unless you're water or phase cooling..

just using the stock air cooler and the stock thermal pad. The Mobo reports my cpu running at around 31 degrees celcius while OC'd, so i can expect load times to hit 50-54 i suppose.

Intel TAT and Core Temp are the two programs that you want to look at if you want the correct temps of your CPU, they take it directly from inside of the CPU, where as Speedfan uses sensors on the motherboard and is often wrong, I mean, do you think your CPU is running at 13c? :P

well thats why i'm so confused, because its so low, yet intel TAT sayings the cores are running at around 16 degrees each...so its not really that far off.

An easy way to figure out if thats right or not is to know what the approximate temperature is in the room where the computer is. If it's above 13-16C then we know something is wrong.

I hate SpeedFan, hardly ever gets anything right plus all the Temp 1-2-3-4. Look at your 12 volt line at the bottom, its 1.54volt. Dont worry its not right either, your computer would not even boot.
