8600GTS would be a good idea, it is noticeably better than the 8600GT.

all i do is basic stuff i just want a faster rig that can play games on max setting and everything without lagging

Abit isn't great, it is a 'OK' to me. I personally prefer MSI P35 Neo2-FR.

i put the round cable for my dvdrw and cd rw drives
as for my budget im trying to stay below $700
i like the case so thats staying and the video card seems good b.c i dont play games very often and its not going to be put to use that much

with that video card you wont be able to run games on max settings smoothly unless they are aged games

I think you should not get that abit IP35-E and get one that works instead.
