hey all,

in everest ultimate it says my ram is Pc3200 but when i look in the bois it sais Pc2700...wth:confused:

its definatly pc3200 ram so whats going on? :P

is there realy that much performance difference from 2700-3200?

What does CPU-Z say it is? It's possible that you have PC3200 memory, but your motherboard only supports up to PC2700.

it says for both sticks of my ram....Pc3200 (200Mhz)

i checked on the internet and my mobo can take up to Pc3200.

Read your Mobo's manual, Some mobos bottleneck the speed of RAM with the CPU Bus speed.

well my pos semprons bus speed is 166.7Mhz :D

Since you have a Sempron and its bus speed is 166/333 I would say the bios Auto sets the ram at the FSB speed. Look in your bios to see if it has a manual setting for your Memory speed and manual set it to 200/400. I know nvidia chips has a seprate setting for the FSB and Memory speed. Some Socket As got a little unstable if you didnt run the FSB and Memory 1/1 but I never had any problem with it.

i just looked in the Bios but there is no memory options whatsoever

only tells you what memory you have installed,i cnt change a thing:mad:

and yes its a Hp machine they lock everything ffs:cool:

is there an alternative way i can change the timings?

Plus since it a HP I dont think they would give you anymore options, most oem bios updates are really just bug fixes

If all of your slots are filled, it will downclock to the next lower level. That might explain it. DDR400 RAM is being used, but is running at DDR333 speeds.
