Never dealt with Buyxg.com, but Newegg is having a huge Free Shipping promo on a lot of it's items. You may want to do a bit of comparison shopping. The saved shipping costs will probably outweigh the 5% :)

Well its too late to cancel the trasnaction but i am planning on upgrading to 2-3g of ram and a new video card down the road so ebay and newegg are on the top of my list for that.

Gotcha. If you ever need a hand looking for great deals or anything, the folks on here are pretty up-to-speed with all the major on-line retailers, so don't hesitate to ask!

I am sure i will be back with more questions once i figure out what kind of ram my new pc has. One question though where is a good site to get a nvidia 8500 512mb video card for a good price?

You will need a better graphics card, the 8500GT is mainly a streaming card if you want to game you will need a 8800 series card, preferably the 8800GT.

i cant afford no 300 odd bucks per card. so 2 8500 will work fine for me.

OK? That's a overstatement. Probably playable at very lowest settings. Any higher, probably a drastic FPS decrease. COD4 will be barely playable too... it will struggle highly. Drop that SLi motherboard and get the cards listed above! HD3850 will fly with those games!

do you think crysis would run ok on 2x8500? also wanted to play cod4.

Unfortunately no. The term SLI makes video cards seem more powerful but the reality is that 2 x 8500GT is worse than 1 x HD3850 which can't max Crysis. Your best bet is the HD3850 is the best price/performance card for your budget. All the 2 x 8500GT would do is use 2 slots and eat more power! IMO you're better off with the HD3850 :)

I played cod4 ok with a shitty radeon 9800xt and 2.4ghz CPU i think with my new pc it will run 2 times better then that so i dont think barely is the right answer. Also i already got the mobo so too late for that. I guess ill have to sell one of them and buy the ATI. I guess i sould of done this research before i ordered the damn thing.

SLi can gain 10-15% more performance, but the performance just doesn't justify the more expensive motherboard, cooling, power supply, and most importantly, cost.

If you really can't spare $20, Get the 8600GTS GDDR3 version... XFX has a OK one...

so whats the damn point of SLI? they make it seem all god and stuff. if one card can outperform 2 thats insane. i should of got the ATI. also can i use 2 of the ATI with that mobo?

Damn i think i need a crossfire mobo to support 2 ATI card amiright?

Hey chill out! The point of SLI is to have a better performance but is usually more appropriate with high-end cards, that way you can get a big enough boost for you to notice a difference. 2 x 8500GT are not worth because you need to buy all the SLI requirements such as a SLI mobo, better PSU maybe gpu cooling. You could save all that money and get only 1 card that performs better than 2 x 8500GT which in this instance Im reommending the HD3850.

Yes, you do need a Crossfire mobo to get 2 Ati cards :)
