COD4 Multiplayer Profile

Is it stored on the PC or something, because I may be installing Vista sometime in the future and I don't want to have to start again with the ranks and everything?

Also, You guys tried the new patch, it made my game lag, really.
In SP, I even dropped the res, the AA and the textures all down to low and it still lagged, Yet, when I got rid of the patch, it all runs fine with everything maxxed out...

Tried the patch?

I would like the know this too..and if it is which file it is so I can make a backup.
I'm pretty sure it is stored on your PC though, because theres already and level hack out. So I'm guessing all they had to do was edit a file on the computer.

I hope there's some way you can back it up, because if you un-install it and loose it all, that's just stupid!

Kornowsky, does the cod4 mp had a ai bot to play offline? I mean like etqw or bf2?

Nah, you can't play like a TDM or anything against bots, only the SP game...
 
I see, too bad i was hoping theres bot to play with.
I just have to skip this game.
Btw do u play crysis?
 
I play it too. Just want to ask since u already have 8800gt that g plan to buy, hows the performance? I bet u can push all setting to high do you.
My 8600gt cant handle that game well, most only medium.

you can play crysis on high with the 7950gt? hmm..maybe ill have to get crysis. i have the 7800gt but i didnt think id be able to play that game even on medium with dx9
 
I'm getting Vista soon, and I don't want to have to start again with the online profile, any idea where it's saved, or how I can back it up or something?
 
there will be a file somewere with all the data on you just have to find that file and save it on a usb
look through the program files or in my games see if you can find it
 
It isn't as obvious as it sounds, but I found out how to do it...

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles

Just copy everything from in there...

There's a mpdata file, I'm guessing that's it, but I backed it all up! ;)

Sorry, I've got Vista installed and I've also got COD4 installed, I'm trying to find where the profiles are stored, I can't find them... Anybody with Vista and COD4?

C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles\"COD4 User Profile".

It says that Windows cannot find it, I tried this;

C:\Users\Danny\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Pro gram Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles

Any ideas?
