When I go on my internet on like youtube and surfthechannel.com to watch tv shows or movies and such the sound only works if I plug my headphones into the input on my pc in the front right near the mic input or if I just play the sound through my speakers, If I plug it into my volume controller to control the surround sound it doesnt' work.

Why not? What can I do to remedy that problem:confused:

I use mozilla firefox btw.

You most likely have a software problem there where you need to reconfigure something if no drivers are missing or were made inactive for some reason. Taking a good look at the sound mixer for onbaord or expansion type will show if one setting is marked in red or simply disabled not allowing sound to go out like it should to the speakers.

No I checked all that before, is there any program or something I can use to check or diagnose why it does that?

If that was a Creative brand sound card in use they their own diagnostic utility included in the software for the card in order to troubleshoot hardware as well as the software/drivers. You could have a bad jack if that is limited only to the plugin seen on the volume controller there. Is that a separate device or the center mix speaker like front center with volume/power found there?

I don't have a creative sound card but I do have this speaker system :

Nah the jack works with everything else except some websites.

If you are seeing it work normally at any other time the problem sounds more like a need to download and install something like Ouicktime or a flash player since all this is being seen online. I suspected that was the most likely problem while first needing to rule any hardware problem out.

While you are running Windows many sites will incorporate an Apple/Mac type format of video clip or clips for viewing where you need an element there provided by Apple. On occasion you may see a message appear asking if you want to install some Apple component or Flash Player at that time. Then you answer yes to see that installed.

The older 5.1 surrond speaker setup here is the Logitech Z-640 no longer seen. That sees the volume, power, front and rear pair of balance controls plus and on'off for the center on the front center speaker itself. Creative sees that on the controller separate as seen on the product page you posted there. The Z-640s can be looked over here.

The Adobe Flash Player for Windows is free to download and install from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

The other thing to look at that could stop media content at some sites is the security/privacy settings in IE itself. If the active x controls options are disabled and mixed content, scross domains options as well as are disabled with setting too high that will tend to block media on various sites from running.
