should i buy???

i was considering purchaseing this Pc --> http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-M...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1199062325&sr=1-33

i was wondering if it was a good buy and if anyone could find any better deals/computers for me etc etc.

im an avid gamer and that is going to the primary function of the PC
therfore i was wondering what video card i should install into it (i know it includes one however i will most definently upgrade it). id perfer an nvidia card but im unsure as to what type of slots the computer has. Can someone please provide me some intel? must appreciated =]

Also if you are to find an alternitive computer id perfer the link to be from amazon (i have gift cards for amazon i wish to use in conjunction with cash)

thanks---
mike

Why not build your own? Its easy, you get exactly what you want, and it saves ALOT of money. Here at CF, we can help you with anything computer related. You can use ur gift card to buy parts on amazon...

If you are an avid gamer, then do NOT get that system. It's crap.

It has onboard graphics ( ATI Radeon X1200) only 1 gig of ram and the cpu is completely outdated.

This system would not play any of the new games at all. And games like half life at low res and settings.

What price range do you want to spend?

Thats the kind of anwser im looking for lol....(no sarcasm)
umm.....amazon(parts and whatnot i guess..) would cap off at 600-650$ maybe 700. Non amazon 500-560$

so you have 100$ you could spend on amazon? i would buy either a hard drive or ram with the bulk of that and then use the rest of your money on newegg.com

E2140
P31-S3G
Patriot Extreme 2GB DDR2-800
Elite 330
WDC 160GB SATAII
HD3850 256MB
Samsung DVD Burner EIDE

www.newegg.com

Type on top, and add :D

Everything worked except the dvd burner doesnt have an 'add to shopping cart' button and the WDC 160GB SATAII doesnt appear with any results.

so on a personal note is this rig well configured for gaming? im unfamiliar with the graphics card (i know radeon but not this particular model). i might replace it with an nvidia card (simply because i play alot of games geared for nvidia cards). On that note could you tell me what type of the slots the rig has 'pci,pci-e' etc. thanks in advance.
