I am so dispointed with my new build.

I just got everything together and I can't describe how dispointed i am with my new Quad build.

I got the Quad in hope that i will speed up my file browsing with in the system since i have got more than 300GB of movies and pictures and manga. I like to show everything on thumb view. Also movie encoding.

I have two 500GB Raid 0 and quad 6600 and 4GB of RAM.

The file browsing seems to be slower than my AMDx2 3600+ because my new system will not show anything somethings and it just hangs.

My movie encoding time did improve much too. with the same files on 3600+ it took 7min and on the Q6600 it took like 6 and half min.

when ever I tries to open the control panel it takes for ever for the things to show up.

and when i click start/run it just does not show up. when it do show up i can't type fast on it because no matter how fast i type it will just how one letter at a time at a very slow speed.

How ever according to Pcmark 05 I got twice the score than i did on the 3600+, higher schore for hard drive and RAM too.

what can be causing the problem?

Did i get something nasty in my system already thats keeping it from running properly?

Note: I did get a virus but it was healed by the AVG anti-virus pro.

also there just now my system time went to 2002, I didn't change it but it just did by it self.

can someone please help me?

OMG I am sure hope it is.

If it is i am low lvl formating both of my drive tomorrow and then gona set it up again.

anybodies got any other idea?
 
proper drivers? not having the correct drivers or having old/bugged drivers can really hamper your entire system
 
Download the newest drivers from the motherboards website. The ones that come on the cd are usually old drivers.
