i have the pentium 4 @ 3Ghz with hyper-threading as you can see in my signature, and i would definately recommend the dual core pentium D @ 2.8Ghz.....the pentium 4 is no match for the dual core newer technology pentium D.

He's not buying it mate, someone's giving it to him and he has a choice between the two, so the Pentium D is the newer technology out of the two and I'm pretty sure it will be faster.

Yeh the E2140 is a great proc, great value for money, I'm thinking of using it in my next build
