Where to get a Cheap PS3?

Hi, i am looking at purchasing the 40GB PS3, i would like to know where i should get it from ... the cheapest one i have found is amazon for £279.99. I do not want to use eBay. Does anybody know where i could go to get one for cheaper than Amazon? Also if there is one with a game bundle it would have to be a driving game. If anybody has a ps3 could they please give me a quick review on them.

I only learned this recently but the 40gb ps3 doesn't play ps2 games. Only the 60gb or whatever one is the next best. Price is pretty good though.
 
mate the cheapest your gonna get one in the uk brand new is £299

you can get one here with a free game of your choice.
it only has the 40Gb hard drive but for £299 i think its a great deal considering they were just under £400 when they were first released.

im thinking i might get one when the new gta game comes out.

tbh i wouldnt bother trtying to play ps2 games on the ps3 as i heard they look worser than the ps1s graphics on the ps3...something to with the resolution the ps3 gives out is diffrent to what the ps2 did or something.
i dont quite know but i heard they look pathetic on the ps3 so i would just go with the 40b version.

i dont understand why people would want to play ps2 games again because ps3 games graphics are so much better.

I'd send you one from the states, brand new bundled with a Spider Man 3 Blu-Ray DVD for only £253. ;)

However, if you don't trust eBay, I don't see why you'd trust me, other than the fact that I have had several successful transactions with members here.

Another alternative would be to check Craigslist. I know it's not as popular across the pond, but it's still worth a shot, and because you're searching locally, you can deal face to face so you don't have to worry about scams. I quick search of London showed a used 60GB for £220, a used 40GB for £200, and a brand new 40GB for £260 that had been posted in the last couple of months.
 
It mighht also be worth ordering GT5 off play.com for arrival in March, you may be able to use some of your trillions of credits!

The graphics are the same(to my knowledge). And there are no games for it (or at least not in Ireland)
 
i would say get a used one with a warrenty i think that eb games has them here, so whatever your local big game store is would be my best guess

It's not always about graphics. There are PS1 games that smoked some PS2 titles regarding graphics. I'm certain the same will hold true with PS2 --> PS3. Hell, I still have a Genesis that sees action :)
 
Hi, thanks for your help, i am in the process of buying off 'game' ... but the site is not working properly ... you get to pressing checkout ... and nothing, how frustrating!!!
