No real good details yet, but here it is. It supposedly is 30% faster than the 8800Ultra, has a total combined memory of 1GB, and uses two G92 chips. So basically it looks like 2 8800GTS 512MB slapped together in one.

Exclusive: Nvidia GeForce 9800GX2 (Tom's Hardware)

EDIT: P.S.: If you ask me, it should be called 8800GX2, this is a bit disappointing. I was expecting a new chip, WTH?

But then the new G92 chip gets labeled as 8800 still... Makes sense to me...NOT!!

they should have labeled the G92 chip 8900GTS maybe? (same as with the geforge 7800 to 7900 series jump ^^ )
but then, who cares about the name, as long as they perform :)

Somebody already posted this :P but oh well. Its just a remake of the 7950GX2 concept except this time its going to be a little better. I just want gpu prices to go down.

What do you guys think the price will be? I could go for this... Maybe around $500?

But, then again, now that I think about it, two G92 chips with 1Gb RAM, on the same card, and it's only 30% faster than the 8800 Ultra...

I think a good hint is that it is replacing the Ultra as the top card.

and think about it different, 2x 8800 Ultras doesn't provide 2x the gpu power, its the same thing.

I'm happy as long as they release the 9800GT being the better deal (better than the 9800GTS for example if they ever come out), as they did for the 8 series.

:D :P

I can't wait to see some prices on those, but they are probably similar to the 7950GX2 and it's going to be $700+

It's not that this really concerns me, but the good thing about this is, that the other video cards prices will go down.
