XP computer can't connect to Vista PC

I have two computers, a desktop running XP and a laptop running Vista, on a wireless network. The laptop can access all of the desktop's shared files and gets internet through the wireless router. The problem is that my desktop can't see the laptop's shared files. When i got to network places, nothing form the laptop shows up. Is this because of vista's increased security? How can i fix this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Check your firewall settings and make sure that the permissions on the Vista computer are set correctly.

Did you share the HDD on the laptop?

Turn off the user account control on vista. Worked for me.

I would not recommend sharing the entire hard drive. That could leave the door open for trouble.
