What is the main purpose of this computer? Seems like you have a VERY expensive sound card. And what price range is your video card going to be in?

I'd recommend going with Intel right now, as AMD has [unfortunately] fallen way behind.

The new computer was intended for a HTPC but it seemed it has turned into a Gaming /Multimedia PC. As for as the video card goes I have bugeted $250.00.

8800GT 512MB then. HD3870 = Secondary alternative.
