Hey
Recently my pc crashed, not badly, but that annoying hard drive click would come up. it wouldn't find the hd, only my cd drives. with the help of linux, i have it up and running, did a defrag about 20 times. But now, it won't play cd's (both my cd drive and my dvd drive will spin the disc but won't load it) In "my computer" the drives are not pictured. I thought maybe my computer wasn't even be able to detect them, so I went into the bios and I saw, that in fact, they were their - first device was my hd, second device my cd drive, third device my dvd drive. Also I used hwinfo, and sandrasi, and both showed them. I tried turning off the pc, unplugging the power to both drivers, then boot again, nothing happened. I went into device mananger, and this is where I got confused. You know when you get that exclamation point when the driver is missing for a certain hardware? Well for the cd & dvd drives, there was an exclamation point, but underneath it a pic of a hd or something. Im pretty sure a cd drive doesn't require have drivers, so I don't know what that sign is trying to tell me =/
thx in advance
