If the pc stands up, it won't work.

Hey,

My friend's pc works if the case is horizontally set and if it's stands up, it doesn't work.
How come?

There could be a trip switch that cuts power when it stands up, or you have a loose wire somewhere and when t moves to a certain position it terminates contact.
 
How old is it. Maybe the disk in the hard drive are warped from over hearting or just from being old. Maybe standing it up is setting off the spin of the disk in the hdd.

Quiktek has a fair point. I have known some old PSU's to do that also...

Also look and make sure everything is tight. If the standoff screws are loose...
