Hypertransport clockspeed

Hey,

I just bought a new CPU - AMD Athlon X2 5000+ - and something caught my eyes. I looked at Everest and I saw that my Hypertransport clockspeed is at 800 MHZ. Shouldn't that be at 1000 MHZ? And could someone check this screenshot so you could tell me if there is something wrong or not.

I also went to my bios to check if everything was alright. I took a look at my CPU - NB link speed and it was at "Auto". You had choices from 200 till 1000 MHZ. Should I put it at 1000 MHZ?

Thanks.

does it clock up and down for power saving issues? idk but it shouldnt hurt to set it to 1000 mhz

This is what I get if i Disable Cool'n'quiet:

The only difference is the Effective and the Real clock speed.

But, the northbridge clock speed equals to the FSB clock speed and my FSB = 200 MHZ, right? If so, and if put my CPU - NB to 1000 MHz, wouldn't I have like a huge CPU clock speed?

AMD's dont have a FSB, well they call it HT, and fsb is worked out by dividing the total FSB by 4, so your bus speed would be 250 MHz for a 1000 MHz HT link

So... If I put my FSB to 250, I will get like 3.0 GHZ instead of 2.6 ghz... That's not right. I am confused... Please help.

if you up your FSB t 250 your clock speed would be

250 times your multiplier, which in this case is 13,

so 250 x 13 is 3.25 GHz

your HT link Multi has gotten set to x4, i set it to that when overclocking.

You need to go into bios and set it to x5.

200x5= 1000mhz

All thats wrong is you need to go into the Bios and change your Hypertransport/HT from X4 to X5 and it will go from 800mhz to 1000mhz. Did you get the 5000 black edition. If so you dont have to fool with your Bus setting to overclock, it has a unlocked X so all you have to do is raise it and your Memory and HT doesnt overclock. Just raise it from 13 to 14 and see if it runs stable without raising the voltage. That would give you 2.8GHZ.

The multiplier in the screenshot reads "5". The multipier within your post reads 13, does anyone have an explianation, thanks. I do not see a 13 anywhere in the screenshot

Looks like 13 to me, im not talking about HT link, Multiplier link is what will give clockspeeds
