AMD cool & quite

Yes, when the processor is needed, it will automatically send it back to stock speeds until its not needed again.

is there anythink that i might be abel to get that will overclock it automaticly or is there any think that might be in my BIOS it is for my systum in my sig

You can overclock through your Bios. They make Windows overclocking programs but its better to overclock using the bios. With yours you would disable Cool n Quite- Drop your Memory from 800 to 677, unless you want to overclock your memory too- drop you Hypertransport from X5 to X4- manually set your PCIe bus from auto to 100MHZ- Then start raising your Bus from 200MHZ up about 5 MHZ at a time till it get unstable then back off a few MHZ. If you want to go higher you will have to bump up your CPU voltage by (small) amounts. And keep a eye on your CPU temps. And with a Gigabyte to get to the overclocking features, when the bios loads you have to press Ctrl and F1 at the same time to open more bios features.

You know, since I reloaded Windows about a month ago, I've been running with Cool 'n Quiet disabled and I've noticed no increase in temps. If any, a degree or two. On top of this, I've enabled Asus's Q Fan which actually sometimes gives me an error my CPU fan is going too slow, yet I still stay around the lower 30's.

why do i have to drop my ram to 667?
why do i have to drop my Hypertransport to X4?
how much volts is a little?
whats the highest ideling temp i should have?
sorry for so many questions

this CPU (and most other AMD) has a locked multiplier right? you can only OC by changing the core speed right?
All of the current AMD and Intel processors have locked multipliers, except for the AMD FX and Black Edition CPU's, and Intel's Extreme series.

You don't need to drop the RAM down to 667, although when you overclock your processor it will also overclock your RAM. So by lowering the RAM speed you will rule that factor out when it comes to testing stability.

You need to drop the HT Link down to 4x, because it's not designed to be run much over the stock speed at 5x. So by lowering the HT Link you also rule this factor out when you try to achieve the highest overclock.

Plus about your voltage, depends on what your 6000 defaults to. I,ve installed some that defaulted to 1.375 and some at 1.40. If you want to go higher in MHZ than the default voltage will take your just try about .025 at a time. On air I would not go over 1.50 or you will have a hard time keeping a 6000 cool. Like I said if you start bumping up the voltage keep a eye on your temps.
