linux or xp on dell inspiron?

I've got a Dell Inspiron 8600. It has Windows XP, but it is bogged down with tons of stuff, and I really havent used it in a while because I don't need to, and because its so bogged down.

I'm thinking about wiping the HD, but do you think that I should keep XP or should I put Ubuntu on it [or some other distro if you have any suggestions?], thanks.

Well keep x p in it ... i know security wise its not that good but its fast then ubuntu..

Not really. I wanted to dual boot it on my PC but couldn't really figure out how, and now I think I need a new HD before I can put that on my PC. Im almost out of memory right now. I just wanted to try it out I guess.

Go to www.download.com and download "wubi" it allows you to choose which OS you boot from it is free and easy to download. You can pic between a few different distros of linux including ubuntu. I like kubuntu but thats just me. GL

I suggest keeping XP. You'll feel how fast it'll be after re-installing it. Keep away from Vista.
