Just wonderin what folks' opinions are about this setup. I think its got the stuff to put crysis and COD4 on high settings at over 30fps each. a little overclocking and whatnot, but I think it'll be good.

Foxconn P35A mobo
corsair XMS2 4gb DDR2 800 ram
intel core2duo E6550 2.33Ghz proc.
Visiontek HD3870 512mb GDDR4 256bit gfx
ASUS dvd drive
WD caviar 250gb HDD
ULTRA V3 500w PSU
ULTRA Grid case

gonna get vista, but not sure if I wanna spend the extra money on 64bit =p

I think you need the 64 bit vista to utilize all 4gb of that ram

Correct. It will only recognize 3.25GB with a 32bit OS.

Go for the E6750...
And I'd avoid VisionTek for no reason.
Go for the Rosewill 550W or the Hec Orion 585W
And the Elite 330, Centurion 5, or Antec 900, P180.

yeah, I can get vista through my college for $30, or I could pay tons more for the 64bit :( unfortunately I dont think that the extra 750mb of ram is worth that :(

and why avoid visiontek? just wonderin if you have any reason, must have to say that ;)

im going for cheap and to just get it up and runnin :) the ultra PSU and the case come in a package deal for only $60, so I figured I'd just do that.

and I see your point on the processor :) I must have skipped over it.

Might as well stick with 2GB and get Home Premium then. Sucks less memory than Ultimate, and 2GB in Dual Channel will see some gains in performance there.

VisionTek isn't really a "big" manufacturer, but rather a small one, like Jetway or ECS... It's your choice, but base it off of the reviews.

500W may work, but no guarantee. ATI is a power hungry card, and without a power filled PSU... :(

Yup. The E6550 is... Just get the E6750. Simple enough :D:P See if you can overclock it. It should be a great overclocker.
