we just got given a computer from a friend its a AMD 1.6 he think but it is a DDR1 board i think an i have a 2G DDR2 800 chip spare an i wanted to check if u can put a DDR2 800 chip on a DDR1 board

No. They have different pin counts and are otherwise incompatable. DDR2 will not fit in the same slot as DDR1.

it actually will not fit.

and if you somehow cut a hole out so it could slot in... it still wouldnt work.

when u say will not fit do u mean physicly or it will go in there an not recogniz
Both, as Cromewell said the pin configuration is different, and even if you did force it in, it would not be recognized and will probably damage the RAM and/or motherboard.
