IP conflict on network?

For some reason for the past day or so every time I turn my PC a yellow triangle appears near my clock with a message stating that there is an IP conflict on my network. What in the world does this mean?

there is another PC using the same IP if you're on static use another number, for ex : 192.168.0.1.

change the last number after 0.
if you're DHCP, try doing a release / renew command

One or more "nodes" on your network are trying to use the same IP address as your PC with the error message.

The solution to this problem is to change your IP address to a addess that will not confilct with anything else on your network.

Assuming its in the 192.168.** range change it from ** to something else like 45 for example.

Or if you don't want to have a static IP address you could try this...

Go to start > run > type cmd from the command prompt type ipconfig /release then hit enter.... when that finishes hit the up arrow and make the "release" into "renew" then hit enter.... or you can simply go to your network connections, right click the local area connection your using and click repair... that should do all that automatically.

Hope this helps.

Check to make sure someone isnt stealing wifi.. you can only have 1 ip address given to 1 computer, not 2 in your case..
