Will the parts work together well? esp the mobo/ram/cpu. have windows media 2005.

Anything else missing from there (not sure) or any recommendations?

Would really appreciate the feedback as i want to make this to last me a for a good while & work properly

thanks

Don't get the 640mb GTS. Get the NEW G92 512MB GTS

Also what OS are you going to run? i would get no less that 2GB or ram, if you get or have a 64bit OS 4gb is always great.

Also, why not get both cd drives in SATA?

I already have the card by set up, is there a big difference between the two?
my os is 32 bit... good point about the drives, i just picked them up randomly base of price/feedback.

anything else i am missing in the list? i think cpu heatsink..

Yes, it will all work together. Another alternative to the motherboard would be the Gigabyte P35-DS3R. Both the P5K-e and DS3R are great boards.

I would suggest an aftermarket heatsink for the Q6600 such as a Zalman 9500 or 9700.

Also maybe get two of the same drives so the match each other? just personal opinion :P.

Also i would get a case without a power supply since you are going to need the corsair unit you have listed anyway. If you get a case for $100 without a power supply included, you will get a much higher quality case.

The case was the highest rated one from that site (since i mainly order from there) for what i wanted, ie very quite and not any significant (or even minor) negatives.

i will check the drives :P

ncix is a canadian site isn't it? if so, you may want to try directcanada.com, they're cheaper even though they're a subsidiary of ncix.

i've got the stock cpu heatsink/fan for my amd 5600+ dual core and i'm running at 31 degrees cpu temp, and 29 degrees system temp. the only other cooling i have is an 12cm fan for exhaust and the smaller one for intake (88mm?), and i guess i can mention the 12cm fan in the psu, but the case has a completely meshed front panel so air flow is exceptional. so i'd say it all depends on your system, and what you'll be doing with it. if you'll be doing graphic intensive gaming, or video editing/encoding on a mass scale, i don't think you'll be needing the aftermarket fan/heatsink for the cpu.

Ahh crap something i might have completely forgot about.. i want to be able to watch TV on this comp (with cable) i am pretty sure my video card has a TV outlet but is that all thats required? (have winders media 2005 os) also will i need a sound card with this build?

Just to update i have received all my pieces except the memory ( back ordered ><) and thanks ThatGuy16 i got that heat sink for the cpu too.

ahh after researching abit, seems like i need a TV tunner to watch TV on it.. do they have specific specs? i have one on my dell computer that i could use if compatibility is not an issue (P4 computer 2 year old, PCI E)

You don't need any specs to play videos/TV. The older, the slower and choppier though. I'd recommend 2.4GHz or above with at least a Radeon 8500 or GeForce FX :)
