I need some help, trying to determine some problems.

Hello. I hope Some one can help me with this. I have a few different anti-virus, anti-spy, and other programs. I suspect one of them may be causing others not to be able to update. How can I determine the problem?

This is what I have:

Adaware (from lavasoft): Currently, when I try to connect for updates, I keep getting an error, and am unable to connect. This has been going on for a week.

Spybot Search and Destroy: No probs. Possible that the SD Resident is the problem.

PC Tools Threat Fire & Firewall: I suspect it may be one of these that is causing the problem, but am not sure.

AVG: Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware: No probs; could be causing the prob.

Panicware Pop-up Blocker: I don't think this is causing the problems.

Spyware Terminator: This program just stopped working. I tried to unistall, and reinstall, but I can't seem to reinstall it. "Windows cannot access the specific path...you may not have permission..." I know it had been working, until maybe a week ago. Then, when adware stopped working, I suspected a problem.

Help?!?

Hello!
AdAware is very useful. Get new version here.
I would leave all except Spyware Terminator. Please unninstall and delete that one.
Did your system get better?

So, you're saying to get rid of Spyware Terminator? The thing is, that program, I tried to reinstall, and now I can't install it anymore. Additionally, it seems that I can no longer get updates for AdAware. I'm trying to figure out if it's a problem like ST. If so, then I won't be able to install a new version of it, either.

The Ad-Aware problem could be related to your firewall, I'd check to make sure that it's not set to block Ad-Aware from accessing the Internet.

With regards to Spyware Terminator, if you are going to reinstall it, I would suggest that you try deleting the Spyware Terminator folder from within Program Files if it's present before reinstalling.
