What are the requirements in order to install a Dual +12v rail PSU?

There shouldn't be any huge issues. If the system doesn't use a 4pin ATX12V connector one of the +12V rails will be unused, but then again with a system that old you wouldn't need more than the power of one rail anyway.

JL2VK I cannot find the specs, it's a very cheap sempron computer.

it's a year old, sorry about the typo, so it's 1 year old acer computer. I am planning to replace the 250W psu with this 500W psu in order for me to use my new ATI x1950Pro which requires 30Amps on the 12V rail in order to run. Ceewee, if that's the case, would it still work?

Ceewee, when you say a 4pin connector, do you mean a 20+4pin main connecter??? or something else?

Don't worry about the 4 pin connector - any PC that's only 1 year old will have one. That PSU should be fine.
