can't connect to any IM programs

hey guys.

i can't connect to any of my IM programs since last night. my internet is fine although there were times my connection timed out last night. i've tried reseting my router, still no luck. hope anyone can help me out. thanks in advance.

I'd look in any software firewall settings to see if your IM programs are listed and enabled... usually, the apps are put in and settings are automatically adjusted.

they are installed, i unchecked the exception and now they work. i might be at risk though so i'll try checking them again to see if they'll work.
