I am using a broadband but my downloading speed is only 50kb/sec. My friend is only using a DSL, I think broadband is faster than DSL, but he can download a file in the speed of 250kb/sec. >.< is there any problem with my internet??

I'm using wireless, he is using line....

And i wanna ask if there's a thing i can do to speed-up downloading......... kinda like software.......????

ISP's provide different rates for different packages, so he may just have a faster internet connection speed.

DSL is a type of broadband.

ok ok maybe, but is there any software i can push my internet downloading speed or downloading software with more fast rate...........

My speed is 5MBps. I can download a 700 MB file with Free Download Manager in about 20 minutes at about 450 kbps.

You can't download faster then your connection is limited to, however there are download managers which do increase the speed a bit by making simultaneous connections for a given file.

Thats really not that good, at 5Mbps you should be downloading at around 600-640KBps.

your telling me.

My speed is actually 4.5 because my ISP is a ripoff. Their service sucks. We're paying anywhere from $50-60 a month for it. We'd like something better, but there is nothing else in my area besides Dial-up

Even with a 4.5Mbps connection you should be downloading at speeds up to 576KBps.

I know how you're feeling, we only have DSL or Dial-Up, so I get a 3Mbps connection for about $45 a month (used to only be 256Kbps!)

We'd like to switch companies because Charter Communications (East Coast USA) is horrible with their service and they're too expensive. It's just nobody else has DSL in my area.
