auto locking

lately my computer started auto locking after a short time of my being afk. its the window button + L function. im fairly certain its not a power saving or screensaver option. plz how do i turn this off :confused:
 
You're not talking about it going into standby or sleep mode are you? If so, those are power options.
 
right click on your desktop>properties>screen saver>power-turn off hard disks(select never)-system standby(select never).
if you're running a notebook you might have to look for the make's energy manager application.
 
nothing really, i was more or less looking for an option that could stop it. if it didnt work id put it back. the strange thing is this startd out of nowere. i didnt screw with any options :S. although i did update resently, maybe that has to do with it

it was a windows update, sry i forgot to mention that. but i dont think its virus based. im completely puzzled

however i did a hijakthis scan just incase, that would explain how it suddenly started.

Ok i fou a virus spoolsv.exe i just looked into all the ones i didn't reconize and thats a virus !!! You can type it in on google if you want more info, someone will post how to fix it.
 
thanks for looking over my log. i checked into the spoolsv.exe thing and its main function seems to b using 99% of ur cpu. and its also a microsoft printer function. i checked the directory and its in the system32 and apparently that makes it the printer thing and not a virus. i have neither of the symptoms of that particular virus but i appreciated the help

i did some research on it, there is a microsoft printer/fax file and a virus with the same name. prob some type of camoflage. acording to a few forums i read that had the same information they said that the virus version didnt hide in system 32 and its main function was to clog ur cpu basically, my cpu is running fine and i did a search for it and only turned up 1 with the same name. so im resonably convinced its not it. and i know viruses can hide there, its happened to me before. that was a pain in the ass to weed out haha.
 
thanks for all ur help guys, i finally managed to fix it. turns out my windows update turned on fast user switching and thats what was causing this. whew that was driving me up the wall :D
