And thats it...
i will be doing minor overclocking later on after the warranty of the CPU expires to ensure that everything works properly. i might do some gaming to so i got the onboard video that has the nVIDEA 7150. they arent going to be games like crysis. i will mostly be listening to music, browsing the web, word processing and more/etc...
At my home i have an IDE Hard Drive that has lots of music and photos that i want on my computer so i will be plugging that into the computer.
Also is that power supply to weak or anything in case i were to get the 8600GT later on? people say it only needs a 350W PSU. thought im worried that it might need dual 12V rails... will it?
The thermal controller is so that i can monitor CPU temps and partially for looks. i know that if im not gaming i shouldnt need it, though i want to. maybe to 2.4Ghz or 2.6Ghz.

I appreciate all the help you guys are giving me, thanks. please look carefully to make sure they are compatible.

ALSO... if i plug in the hard drive at my house that has word processing programs, iTUNES, Limewire, and AT&T browser, will it be on the computer? or will i have to go download them all over again?

dont get that western digital, i had it in the build in my sig. after 2 weeks, it started clicking and died, just look at the reviews those die alot. Get the Seagate 250GB 16mb cache for the same price, its smaller (physically) and silent. I can not hear it over my fans (which are not loud). The western digital is loud and can be irritating.

and for your other question, you will have to find the exact file go get the programs to work because its not in the new hard drives registry. You could use it as a back up, but you really should reinstall everything, It also prevents carrying over viruses.

yea that sounds ok just mabey that u should get a better PSU that one is a cheap PSU it will die probly after a couple of years

I have to strongly disagree on that. Western Digital manufactures quality units, 3/4 of my computers have them. In fact, I still own a 1995/1996 model of the Western Digital Caviar ATA66 models... Work flawlessly.

Seagate is also a great company, however, I have had more problems with them than WD. From not being compatible with Compaqs, and oil in the motor freezing from one time to another...
