Hmmm...doesn't seem to be any. Did the laptop originally come with Vista? You might want to try calling Toshiba ans see what they tell you.

for starters you can try uninstalling onecare live, might solve the firefox problem. It's a very very buggy program (even now, after fixing a lot) and does more harm then good to your pc. Try using avast or avg antivirus, both free.

Also you've got some speed up my pc program. They usually do more bad then good. I call that "just another program the cloggs up your pc". I recommend removing it.

As for the drivers. You can try the vista ones, xp may accept them. If not, give a shout i'll give it a try at finding them.

yea im giving a shout right now, iv tried different drivers that i think will work and then dont. all help will be appreciated.

just had another case of toshiba wanting to change to xp... goddamn that's hard... they even split up the bios versions in a vista and a xp one...

anyways i've been looking around for you know and yours is coming very very close to being just as irritating (only thing is the other guy paid me to do it :P). I can't seem to find any drivers. Only the wireless and the video drivers which seemed to be a big pain in the ass for everybody on this planet. The mass storage drivers... wel pretty much nobody bothered to look for them because everything works without them. As for the ethernet... i'm srry can't even find which ethernet card you have right now.

this means i'm either a really big dumb sob or well... no i'm a dumb sob :P

If you can give me a hand i might be able to get it for you. Download everest trial edition and go into the hardware tab. There you'll pretty much see the standard windows device manager. Look up the 2 devices where you can't find drivers for a give me some more info on them. There should be something like manufacturer and model or something like that. Anything will be usefull.

hey i cant find a "hardware tab"
do you have an aol instant messanger screen name? mine is themarsvolta55 and if u can hit me up maybe we can do a "LogMeIn" or somethin around the lines of a remote connection

nope srry don't have aim. i looked it up for ya it's under devices and then windows devices.
there you'll the common list you get in device manager. then under "other devices" there should be the 2 things you couldn't install. Click on them and below the list of devices you'll see the info it has about it.

The mass storage controller driver might be this one according to the device id. Try downloading this driver for a packard bell and see if it works. its for the TI flashmedia card reader.

And also try downloading and installing this Lan driver to see if it gets it going.

"And you, sir, are a steely eyed missile man"- Apollo 13

thanks alot man! hah all drivers finally good:)

I'm glad you finally got it going. Sometimes it just requires a little bit of digging for the right drivers when going from vista to xp. It would be in your best interest to make a cd with all the drivers on it for future use.
