I wanna create some beats for music but i dont know of any good programs. I have a program called Music Maker 2004 Deluxe but its not all that great. It doesnt have many sounds you can use and what not. Anyone no of any good programs for creating music beats?

Reason by propeller heads is a great little program - for dance music it's basically as good as you'll get. Reason 4.0 will be around $200-$250 I reckon. Mine's in the post!

Almost everything that people recommend will be professional. If you look back (in the forum) I asked the same question and got no response. I would say, if your looking for something as simple as "Garageband" for the mac to go for software called "Mixcraft" or "Steinberg Sequel". Steinberg also makes Cubase. I think Mixcraft is just a cheap copy of Garageband but is still good.

Ermmm like said above what i'll recommend is probably quite a bit more than ur looking for:
I use
Reason 4 and FL-Studio 7
aswell as a load of other virtual instruments i've downloaded
For the above softwares its pretty hard to get anywhere without a MIDI keyboard that u can connect to ur comp.

But if ur looking for software where u just put loops together i think any of the eJay series are supposed to be good.

i make beats and i actually use a combination of three of the already mentioned programs

i use fruity loops 7
virtual dj
and audacity

all really good programs
