Performance increase?

Hello. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post on, but here I am!

I lagg pretty much, in games like WC3, WoW and CS:S. My FPS lays on around 10-30, maybe 40 sometimes, and that's quite choppy. I wanna know how I could increase my FPS to get a nice gameplay, even though if I have to spend a lot of money. Just tell me . My Graphic Card is: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200LE.

My Spec are as follows:

System: Microsoft Windows XP. Home Edition. Version 2002. Service pack 2.
Packard Bell. Packard Bell computer. Intell (R). Celeron (R). CPU 2.93GHz.
2.93GHz 512MB RAM.

well your board supports agp grphics cards so you are gonna be limited to what you could get-

personlay if i was a gammer i would think of a new build supporting pci-e grphics,ddr2 ram and core2duo cpu-seems to be the choice these days..

the other guys in here will know better as i dont really play games, apar from command and conquer lol

I guess the other thread was deleted, but the main issue is with your video card. Now i'm not sure if you have an AGP or just PCI slot, but if you have an AGP slot then it may be worth upgrading. I would also add another 512MB of RAM if your computer can support it.

1GB of memory minimum... and like a 6200LE.

if your board allows for dual channel memory, and you have 2 slots available, I would addon another 1gb, but in a kit (2x512mb). That would increase your FPS a bit.

The 6200 is not much better then the FX5200, I would say get at least an X1300 or 7300.

Uhm yeah.. I see. How much would a X1300 cost? I'm ready to spend some money, though not over 500$. I will also try to get some more RAM, I know 512MB is kinda bad..Anyway, thanks for your answers.

I was in the same boat, now I'm planning a full blown build, I hate spending money!!! It will be worth it to go to pci E. Otherwise get a new graphics card that will work with your board, and maybe another gig of ram.

With $500 I would do a complete overhaul, basically buy a new computer that you can upgrade later on. Spending $500 on an outdated machine really isn't worth it.

Now if you have an AGP/PCI-E slot and DDR RAM, then thats a different story and it may be worth upgrading.
