Title says it all.Takes me to blue screen.

This happened right after I powered down and rebooted.

Ive tried to boot in safe mode.WONT
Ive tried booting from last known and it wont.
Ive tried to boot from the recovery disk and it wont do that.

This happened right after I powered down and rebooted.

I am guessing bad HD?Strange thing is this drive is only 6 months old.Lucky for me I have everything on it backed up.

What error is the blue screen giving you?
it goes off so fast I cant read all of but it appears to say something to the affect of turn all virus protection off,,,start in safe mode that sort of thing.

Ive ordered a external HD case for this thing.I am going to test it when it gets here to see if it is truly corrupted.

Good news its a western digital 80 gb scorpio that I bought 6 months ago.Its under warranty and I got a RMA from WD.They are sending me a new one as we speak and I just have to send the old one back in the next 30 days.

Ah ok, try this. press f8 when your starting up to get safe mode menu. check if there is an option to "disable automatic reboot on system failure" by doing this the next time you load the blue screen will stay on and if you post what the error is your getting someone might be able to shed some light on it.

I was able to get this screen shot with my digital camera.

No,,It will only give me safemode, safe mode with networking, safemode with command promt, last know good configuration, or start windows normally.

Those numbers are just memory addresses. the 0x at the start just denotes that the value is a hex value, it looks like those memory locations were addresses and there was a stack fault of some kind, to be honest you've got absolutely no chance of ever getting to the bottom of the problem with just those values. In this situation i would probably just backup your stuff with the external caddy your getting, format and reinstall

I just got through doing a major back up of that system about a month ago to a external drive and I havent really added any new pics to it.I am going to check it before I send it back to WD.WD is sending me a new one.Its under warranty.

This is the second HD for this computer. It gets really hot and I think its killing the drives.I am going to get a laptop cooler for it and pray that it does not happen again.

Reload xp OR if you have important files see if it will work in another computer.

I got a external case for it today.Pluged it in.It opened up to a h: drive to my computer a couple of times but when you tried to open it,,it said file corrupt.

Tried a couple of virus and recovery programs and no luck.

Good news is I didnt have any important files that were not backed up and its just 6 months old and under WD warranty.

WD seem like pretty good people to work with. They are sending me another one without waiting for this one to come back.I just have to send it back to them in the next 30 days.
