Flight Simulator X

I don't have it on my home PC, a buddy has it on his system. Im not even sure mine would run it without studdering..

PM me your aim or google name and I could walk you through some stuff..

Where do you fly?

Im currently a Private Instrument rated pilot. Been flying for 11 years. I fly C172's, C182's, P160's and P180's. I have done a lot of long flights.. like San Jose California to Bozeman Montana, San Jose California to Las Vegas.. All over California.. Planning on a Cabo trip soon enough!

Im actually taking a buddy and our 2 ladies tonight down to Harris ranch tonight for Valentines day. Its about a 45 min flight with a Runway at the restaurant!

Do you work in the industry, or did you go to school for aviation?

well, i have not flown in over two years and i have moved so i would need to get my medical and get checked out again. but basically wwhat happened was my roomate was in a piper archer club and he had just gotten his instructor's license and needed a firsst student, so he taught me for free. like i said before, i am only VFR (the lowest rating for those who dont know) so im not anything special. the longest flight i ever did was from binghamton NY airport (tri-cities) to niagra falls and back (about 3 hours round trip). i really loved it, and if i get the time and money i would like to take it up again, but it was only a hobby, im not in the industry at all. even though i had finally gotten my license, i have actually never flown without someone else with a license with me, but of course as a noobie pilot i always did the flying because it was so exciting to me (unless it was a crazy crosswind landing or something else).

Hopefully this shows up good, but here is a shot I took flying over the radio station I work at. The two towers are two of our three AM broadcast towers and the river you see in the back is the Licking River (although it is somewhat exaggerated on FS than in real life... in real life its more of the 'Licking Creek' than river) There is actually a third tower in real life but its missing in the game, also, the actual station and the buildings on the lot are missing. The roads that are shown in game are nowhere near accurate, but come on, the fact they gave our station a mention in the game is pretty darn cool!

And theres flaps but theres something else the annoying guy who doesnt let me use the radio say to do. Starts with F like flaps. I was flying round australia and The city looks well not like it does but you can see some stuff thats there . The sydney harbour bridge, The opeara house, The AMP building and a few other, And some other places. it Amazes me how they can fit the world in :P.

outside of the river and a few small landmarks, Newark is pretty inaccurate but you have to consider how much time it must have taken to plot out all that is included!

From what Im learning, flaps are mostly only used during landing. What your thinking of controls your lift in the air and its called 'Trim'. I dont know where it is in a jet, but in the Cessna its to the right of the yoke. Trim helps you stay flying straight and level. Trizoy is teaching me some tips about tracking VORs which is how you navigate in the plane. Im learning, slowly but surely :P
