hey guys,

i just got a eVGA 8800GT superclocked.
i installed crysis and was very eager to play it, however, on high settings, it doesn't look much better than my old X800XL and it lags sometimes.. (no AA, or AF)

my system setup is
E6300
eVga 8800GT superclocked
2GB OCZ 600mhz DDR2 4-4-4-15 ram
Gigabyte DS3
160GB Seagate Hard Drive 16mb cache, 72,000 rpm
Antec Smartpower 2.0 450W PSU @ +12V1 15A, +12V2 17A.
(is that a problem?)

running at 1440x900 (19")

please do help!

i think your CPU might hold you back a little. i play crysis on high with an e8400 and with an 8800GT and my CPU runs at 100% all the time (even overclocked). and did you mean your RAM is 800mhz?

yeah, nonetheless, Crysis is such a graphics intensive game. but if you arent seeing an improvement over your x800 then something might be wrong

Doubt it, I have the same CPU and to be honest, if you overclock that thing, it'll be one of the best bang for the buck overclocking CPU. It's cheap and can be overclocked to a really high point.

Well it's not surprising that it lags on all high settings, but are you sure it doesn't look much better than how you played it before? What were the settings you had prior to the 8800gt?

I play Crysis on Medium without any lag but not at a super solid FPS. It looks real good but definitely could be better.

Make sure the settings are the same and make sure the resolution is the same. Resolution is so much more of a PC killer for this game.

And if you were able to play it on high before... and settings haven't changed. The graphics won't look any different.

And i'd definitely call that PSU a problem.
