How do I add a "link" in my text

I am a member of several online forums and throughout reading them I often run accross threads where someone has included a "link" to another page or website by saying something like "click here" or "this". The only way I know to "link" to a page is to copy the URL of that page and paste that into the text. How do they change their links to a word like "click here" or "this"?

I hope this makes since to someone.

Thanks,

[ url=put the link here]put what you want the link to say here[/url]

except get rid of the space at the start.

so its basically

[ url=http://www.computerforum.com/]computerforum[/url]

which will look like:

computerforum

i dont think i explained that well.

click here for a proper explanation :)

You can also highlight a word and click the hyperlink icon (the little globe and chain link) and input the link.

Or if you don't want any text and just the address just to [ url] (link here) [/url ] (just remove the spaces in the brackets)

Keep in mind thats only for BBCode though. HTML and other coding is much different.

well he was asking about how to change the words and not just have the link... but yeah

wrong :)

use this:

[ url=][/url]

then put the link in like so:

[ url=http://www.computerforum.com/][/url]

then put in what you want it to say:

[ url=http://www.computerforum.com/]computerforum[/url]

which will give you this:

computerforum

remember to get rid of the space i put in at the start. (i had to put that in so it didnt jus make it a link while i was trying to explain it)
