I installed a second HDD in my daughters computer and everything recognizes the second HDD except Windows, It shows up in the Bios, and under device manager but not in Control panel>Admin>Computer mgmnt>Disk mgmnt. I did not format this drive yet, I was hoping it would be recognized and I could simply right click and format but as usual a simple task becomes a PITA!
Here's what I plan to do, if there is an easier way or if this won't fix my problem, please let me know.
The computer is running XP home and I plan on putting in the XP disk and rebooting, selecting the HD in question and doing a quick format, stop the install and then remove the disk. I'm hoping when I reboot the computer will see the new drive and I can then do a full format...what do you think? Is there an easier way or should I put on some coffee
TIA
