ram and usb

does ram(memory) affect the 2.0 usb. because my usb is not giving out the full 2.0. if its not the ram then what can it be???
 
No memory cant effect your USB. You might need to update the driver. Look in Device Manager under your USB and see if you have a listing as Enhanced USB Host Controller.
 
Why are you saying it's not running at USB 2.0? Do you get a prompt saying that the USB is only running at 1.1?
 
i have a 2.0 external hard drive but when i plug it on to my comp the light on the harddrive turns red(1.1) and i didnt see the enhanched usb controller.
 
ok i plugged it on again and it was working for a minute and then i plugged on my maya44usb (soundcard) and then the hard drive just off.
