Hey guys, say I buy 2x2GB Dual Channel = 4GB and what I have right now in the computer is 2x1GB Dual Channel. Are all the 6GB going to run in Dual Channel? All sticks are the same brand.

Hopefully you are running a 64bit edition of Vista there. Most boards at this time will run in the dual channel mode whether or not all dimm slots are populated unlike some older boards where the three dimm slots then seen would force the single channel mode. The 2gb dimms are best installed in the first dimm slot for each channel to note one more thing when mixing different sized dimms.

I have a Gigabyte P35 DS3L and im running XP. Is it possible?

you will need a 64-bit operating system in order for xp to recognise more then 3.25 gig of ram.

you are most likely running 32-bit.

oh no no I dont mind losing some memory as long as they are running dual channel and there is no conflict.

When you first mentioned adding 4gb more to the present 2gb that I may have assumed that you were already running or planning to run a 64bit edition of Vista not 32bit XP. For XP even XP Pro 64 it would be a total waste of effort. Those seeing 4gb of memory are running a 64bit edition of Vista just to get past the 3-3.2gb barriier.
