I thought I had made a decision on the Samsung, but now I'm unsure. If I'm able to buy it locally and return it for any reason, then I'd be willing to try it out. Although I'm not crazy about the blue power light...hopefully it's not so annoying. I think several monitors have a power light though.

I would go with the Acer monitor.

Only thing is, I'm a little wary of buying an LCD online. It would be such a pain to return if there's a problem. But of course my local store may not have everything. I know they do have the Samsung, though.

It's crap. I have that one at home. There's a reason it's only $200.

See, this is why I can't decide. I hear good things, then I hear things like this. I just don't know. I think I might go with the Samsung and just make sure I can return it if it turns out to be bad, but even the A and C panels don't seem to be that bad after you calibrate it a little, from what I've read.

The Samsung 2232GW looks really nice. Apparently it's the successor to the 226BW.

I just don't know what else to do! :(

That G series stuff is crap because it comes with a silly plastic base, and has no VESA mounting.

They're the same panels as the B series, from the same various sources, few of which are actually Samsung.

So basically with them you're paying an even higher premium for an even worse product, which is no easy feat since you're starting with awful Samsung crap in the first place.

You want an LG. The Hanns-Gs aren't too bad either.

But what about the bad reviews of *those* brands too? I think eventually you get to the point where you have to just ignore the reviews and make your decision, so I'm wondering if I shouldn't do that with the other brands as well.

Oh, and what's all this talk about some panels only being 6-bit? Is that what the '6' in the model number stands for? They still list 16.7 million colors, but is that wrong? I can't really find this info in the specs. :(

2 MS (GTG) respose time is NOT actually 2MS. It's about 6-10. It's a marketing scheme, don't fall for it. ;)

Most of what I see is 5ms. The ones advertised as 2ms can't be more than 5, can they? I figured it was 2ms GTG, and probably 5ms black to white.
