I agree with Jesse, the 8800GT is a great card, but for the use you plan to make, I'd suggest the 3850 or the 8800GS. Of course you could go for even a lower card, but those cards should let you play very good sometimes games.

Also, I would look at an other PSU such as the Corsair 550VX, but it may not be necessary. I just would suggest for a high quality PSU because I wouldn't want to risk a new build over a few $.

I would also tend to suggest the E8400, but at the same time, the one you chose would be plenty(most likely) and is about 50$ cheaper. Again, we could push things even further and suggest the E4500 since its just to be used for basic computer needs and sometimes gaming.

hey guys well thank you for your advice the reason i was getting the 8800 gt is because in case i want to play higher graphics games i could. as for the psu i was just choosing this one b/c for now its enough at least i think to run this rig it has 36 amps on the 12 volt rails i figure if i chose to go sli or something i will have to upgrade the mobo and the psu. what about the card however will it work with the mobo i have? if you guys think i should upgrade the mobo i don't mind spending an extra few dollars to do that i just figured this one was good for now let me know thank you.

Not sure why you're switching mobo, your previous one was good. I wouldn't suggest going SLI specially with your needs; therefore, I'd advise against an NVIDIA chip mobo, you should go for an Intel based one like the previous one you chose.

As for the difference between the E8400 and E6750, well the first one is a bit better, but I am not sure that with your needs you'd actually see any difference... So, for that matter, maybe it would be wiser to stick to the cheaper one.

okay but i know this is probably an idiotic question but does the pci express slot on the first mobo work with the pci express 2.0 of my video card?

backwards compatible meaning works with pci express x 16 slot? doesn't have to be installed backwards just means it works with older slots right? alright i think i am going to finalize this thing i want to get the parts this week and put it together. its my first build from the ground up. i think i will stick with the original build also thanks for the adivce guys.

Kinda funny question... hehe, installed backwards!

You should get 4 gigs of RAM if you really want some great performance. then get the 64 bit :)

exactly, it doesn't... however u can still install 4gb, but I think Jesse suggests you do both, intall 4gb and Vista 64.

i see well for now i have gone with the 2 gb and vista 32 bit i heard 64 bit had problems. i may upgrade at a later time. even if the 32 bit doesn't recognize 4 gigs of ram will it still speed up the computer as a whole to have 4 gb or ram rather than just 2?

Lol, why get a 8800GT if it's used for gaming "Sometimes"

The fact that he's only gonna play "sometimes" doesn't mean he's not gonna play Crysis, COD4, UT3 or most modern games so he's good with the 8800GT. ;)

The whole build looks great, was it me that helped you put it together?? :P :D
