Hi, Can someone please tell me if either of these video cards

http://cgi.ebay.com/BFG-GeForce-730...oryZ3762QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/ATI-RADEON-9250...oryZ3762QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Will work with my mobo----Intel corp D945GTP

Video Intel® GMA950 onboard graphics subsystem

Expansion capabilities:
One PCI Express x16 bus add-in card connector

so that means that you can pretty much use any newer card..
by the way... i found all that here..

http://www.intel.com/products/mother...5gtp/index.htm

I appreciate any help given.

TIA

Your mobo has a PCI EXPRESS x16 video slot. The nvidia will work fine, as for the AtI board, this uses a AGP interface, wich your mobo is not fitted with.

i didnt look up ur mobo apart from what u mentioned. The first one woul;d work, because it is pci-16x. the seocnd one is agp.

you can only use a card that connects trhough a PCI EXPRESS x16 interface. AGP not good! There are ati and nvidia cards that connect either through agp ori pci express. only choose pci express ones :)

How do you guys learn this stuff? So as long as it says pci express x16 I can use the card. It doesn't make a difference if it is nvidia or ATI?

Guys, If I get the one that works with my mobo, would I be able to download the drivers for it from the manufacturer's web site?

We read.
As long as it's PCI-e x16, yes. nVidia or ATI is your personal preference. I personally prefer nVidia, as do a lot of the forum members. (I think I'll be trading in my Radeon X1650 pro soon :D)

Yes.

Well studying computer science for about 10years, and another 5 years in serviceing pc's, and now studying at a computer science university... you turn out know some little stuff :) Ati and Nvidia are BRANDS. Like ford and BMW. Only ati and nvidia produce video boards for pc's. the performace stands in the amout of RAM that the boards have, how wide is the bus(measured in bits64/128/256...)...the technology that is embeded in the GPU(the video boards processor unit). google search for graphic cards and read more.:)

You started at 9 studying computers? Wow.

Do you guys deal with ebay at all? If so, if I put in a bid where there already is a bid, does ebay offer something that will automatically up the other person's bid without them even being there? In other words by itself?

I think some users can set it to do that. I dunno how though.

Exactly! You bet your maximum that you would pay for it. Say something is at $20 and you bid a maximum of $30 then, someone else bids $25. Ebay, then says someone else bidded higher than you (to the person who bidded $25) and automatically raises the bid to like 50 cents more than $25 or w/e the bid placer decides.

Edit: I deal with ebay alot but, if you want fast shipping and cheap, go with tigerdirect or newegg. If you are buying something in lots then ebay is good or if you want to buy something that is expensive but, want to find it cheap then ebay is good. For things that are inexpensive then just go to a store or order from another site. Watch out for electronic items as sometimes when you get them the serial #s are crossed out and indicating that they are stolen or older models. Thats just me 2 cents!
