I jailbroke my 1.1.4 Ipod Touch, and it's amazing! I highly suggest that anybody with an Ipod or Iphone tries this out! It's fantastic!

What I have on at the moment;

  • 100+ Original NES Games
  • Iphysics (with extra levels) This is something you HAVE to try!
  • Customize - Lets you change anything to do with the looks!
  • Summerboard - Lets you use pre-made themes!
  • More to come! :D

I'll try and get some pictures!

nice and just on time... and is that funny, the add is advertising a windows product :P but i heard that soon there will be a new firmware that will prevent and 3rd party applications from being installed on it

maybe he means like... you have paid for the device so you should be able to do whatever you want with it. not be restricted...?
maybe haha

I'm still running jailbreak 1.1.3 because of compatibility issues that have not been fixed just yet.

hmm Emulation on an Ipod, lol, :P
will it work on my Nano ?

Rockbox is a firmware for a lot of MP3 players, it's sort of like Linux (might actually be Linux), I could never get to grips with it. Also, the jailbreak is for the touch/iPhone only because they both have the lovely multitouch screen.

Sure thing Good Guy;

- 1.1.4 Jan updated ipod
- Quit Itunes
- Run Ziphone v2.6b (Get it here: http://download.ziphone.org/)
- Click Jailbreak Ipod button
- Wait 30secs (lots of text will come up)
- Ipod reboots
- You are JB on 1.1.4 minus your Jan apps
- sync a few photos or songs to your ipod
- Your Jan apps are now there!
- To get rid of the "Z" icon (zibris blog link, its annoying!) hold the icon until it wiggles then click the x to delete it
- Setup your Wifi in Settings app.
- Open installer (it will ask you to upgrade - do so - open it again)
- Install "BSD subsystem" from installer (just search all applications is the easiest way). You need this to use a lot of apps.
- Install "OpenSSH" from installer. This will allow you to connect to your ipod over wifi if necessary. Good for manually installing apps if you need to.
- Install "Boss Tool" from installer (you'll see why below)
- Open Boss tool and click "free disk space"
- Choose "move applications" (this will allow you to install more apps than the ipod normally allows and save you lots of hassle in the future) confirm at the dialogue box and wait a minute.
- Now your ipod is truely JB'd and ready for most things.
- Start playing with installing other things in installer!
