Turning the monitor off with the power?

Is there a way to set a PC so that the monitor comes on and off when you turn on/off the power?

Control Panel > Power Options > Advanced > Power Buttons > Shutdown.

This doesn't actually turn my Dell monitor completely off, but puts it into sleep mode, as well as starting the Windows shutdown process when I press the power button on my PC.

Depending on you PSU / Power Supply and you screen.

Some PSU's allow you to run your monitor off the computer so when you turn your computer off it turns the monitor off.

I'm using the same monitor as you, actually. And I've read we can turn off the light in the menu.

Didn't even know that. I like the blue LED though since it matches with my case and external HD. Well if that's the case, then your monitor only uses 1W in standby.

is it that much of a hassle to press it off yourself? or is this more of a curiosity im to lazy kinda question? lol

It's just a matter of convenience, I suppose. Especially since I've used laptops for the last 10 years and never had to deal with turning off a monitor.
